The Last Lecture book review

The last lecture, was a book, from the last lecture that one of the author Randy Pausch ever gave. In the story, he mentioned about his childhood dreams,  enabling the dreams of others, and finally his lessons learned. He published this book in 2008 knowing that he had cancer because there were tumors in his lungs. In the book, he did a few push ups in front of his audience in the talk he was at to show people that 'he didn't need people pitying him'. Haha. He said that he cracked a few jokes and one of the ones that I really liked was when he shared about his dream on being in the National Football Team when he didn't achieve it. He said that his football coach once came to the field without a football, while an older player in the team asked the coach, "how are we going to play football without a ball?" And the coach replies," how many players are in the game?" So he starts thinking, "11+11=22 " Exactly, and how many players have the ball in the match?" He and the teammates reply,"1"while not thinking why their coach had asked them this. "So we are gong to do what the other 21 players do while the other has the ball" The coach replied. This book is a life changing book written for Randy's children. What I loved about this book is that even if Randy knew he was going to die, he was however, optimistic. He said his wife was also optimistic and supported him. He had the courage to go to Carnegie Mellon University to give his last lecture, while he was alive. I was devastated when Randy told the whole world how he had cancer in his liver. I suggest this beautiful inspirational book for people who love inspirational books. Mind you, he left his life as an inspiration to us, and to the coming generation, and his kids...

  1. I actually love this book in all the books that I've read because what I like is that Randy Pausch added all his emotions and feelings in this book and dedicated it to his children. What a lovely man, who lost his life because of cancer...
